Ways To Make Frozen Tissue Samples Easier To Analyze

The importance of frozen tissue samples cannot be understated in the medical field. Frozen tissue is used in many types of research – to test and compare drugs, to look for a cure for certain diseases, and even more recently, to explore treatments that may be able to help cancer patients live longer.

When you don't have access to a lab, what are your options? There are three ways that you can make frozen tissue samples easier to analyze

The first option is to place the sample in an environment with less humidity. Humidity can cause problems because it can cause ice crystals to form and damage the sample. The second option is to store the sample at a lower temperature. This will prevent ice crystals from forming and prevent any damage from occurring. Finally, if you're experiencing difficulties with collecting blood from patients or patients aren't cooperating, then you can use gloves when handling the tissue samples.

Labels can be used to identify tissue samples, which can make it easier for laboratory technicians to find the needed sample and conduct the tests that they need. Labels should contain the order number, patient information, date of birth, gender, name of the specimen donor, lot number, and expiration date. Labels also have a place for a separate identifier if needed.

When it comes to analyzing frozen tissues, there are a few steps to follow. For one, make sure that the samples are labeled with any pertinent information. When labeling is complete, place them in the freezer as soon as possible. This will prevent any sample contamination while they are being analyzed in the lab.
